. 2nd. l/t H. B. Goldston, under Battalion orders 242, issued by Lieut. Col. M.D. Barkley, officer commanding 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Vine cottage, Chapel St. Leonards, Alford, Lincs. on 12th October 1917 at 6:30 p.m., and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), records indicate that he reported his arrival from 71st Training Reserve Battalion and was taken onto the company strength from 10-10-1917, he was posted to B company.


Lieut. H. P. Goldston - CRICKET LEAGUE - Notice - Under Battalion orders, issued by Lieut. Col. M. D. Barkley, Commanding Officer, 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Beechlands, Skegness, on 2nd August 1918 at 5:00 p.m., and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), orders being for the following day i.e. 3rd August 1918, records indicate that he was one of the contingent of the 2/1st HCB & the 2/6th [Cyc] Battn. Suffolk Regiment joint Cricket Teams who were to play against a Skegness and District team on Monday 5th August 1918 at 2-00pm.

He took part in a concert programme whilst serving with the Hunts Cyclists under the name of 'Miss Christine' and played the part of 'Miss Chief'.
