J. A. McNish.

.

23/2/1917    Lieut. M. McNish, Cyclist Battalion, has been appointed temporary captain.

From a local paper dated 1-11-1918   "The latest news respecting Lieut. J. A. McNish of St. Neots is more reassuring.  The Chaplain writes that he was out on patrol, and his party was surrounded by the Germans.  The British troops captured the position the next day, and found all the party's rifles, packs and no dead soldiers, but one wounded man who said Lieut. McNish had shaken hands with him and wished him luck.  So there are good grounds for hoping he is a prisoner.
