Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 4th September 1916. Born Knapwell,
Cambs, enlisted Huntingdon, resident Godmanchester. Formerly 560, Huntingdonshire
Cyclist Battalion.

Chandler - His name appears on a list of appointments and promotions that
appears in local papers on 9/4/1915. He was appointed acting paid Lance
Corporal, from the rank of Private, in F company of the 2/1st Battalion.
Mr. Ernest Chandler was
the first man from Spaldwick to join the Hunts. Cyclist battalion in
Huntingdon [November 1914]. |
