G W Fairey.

Local newspaper entries indicate that by 17th October 1914 Private G. W. Fairey had been promoted to the rank of Corporal at the time it was indicated that he was serving in A Company.

Local newspaper entries indicate that by 17th October 1914 Corporal G. W. Fairey had been appointed Corporal at the time it was indicated that he was serving in A Company as Machine gun section. 

G. W. Fairey was a POW in Germany, in the ???????????????Regt.  ??????

  G. W. Fairey, aged 26 of Scarborough, son of Jonathan Fairey, Gardener, married Jane Elizabeth Skelton , aged 27 daughter of William Richard Skelton, Gardener, 

on the 30th September 1916 at St. Oswald's, Filey.

They had a son Bill Fairey who is lived in Filey.    -       Bill married Gwen, who had a son by a previous marriage before she married Bill.       They also had a daughter - Mary.
