. Information taken from a local  newspaper dated the 14/7/1917 = Pte. A. Hitchcock, Beds Regt., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hitchcock, Green End, Sawtry, who was reported missing on April 23rd, is now stated to be wounded and a prisoner of war in Germany.
