William J. Lincoln.

He is remembered at the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing on the Somme in France.

 

  

William Lincoln - Pte. 30218   in the 14th Royal Warwickshire Regiment he was born in St Ives, enlisted at Huntingdon in the Hunts. Cyclists Battalion as Pte. 1687. He was later killed in action on 3/9/1916 whilst serving in France aged 35.  He was the son of William and Elizabeth Lincoln of St Ives. 

His name is inscribed on the Thiepval Memorial to the missing on the Somme on Pier & Face 9A, 9B & 10B.

 

He is also remembered on the St. Ives War Memorial that is situated in the car park area off the main road and square running through the town.
