- Private W. Newell, London Regiment, formerly a Great Northern
Railway employee at Peterborough, was killed in action on November 12th.
From a local newspaper dated NOVEMBER 17TH 1917 - Private Walter Ernest Newell, [2/4th] London Regiment, Peterborough, died of wounds received in action in Northampton Hospital on 12th November 1917. He was the son of Mr. Chas Newell, Dogsthorpe Road, Peterborough.
