23/11/1917 - Sergt. W. Noble, of St. Ives, has written home to his mother in Woolpack Lane stating that he has been promoted Company Quarter Master Sergeant of the Company in France. Local newspaper entries indicate that by 17th October 1914 Corporal W. Noble had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant at the time it was indicated that he was serving in C Company. |
