William Oldfield.

. William joined the H C B as a private number 290100 and rose to the rank of Sergeant- he later transferred into the 8th Bedfordshire Regiment. 

 In a local newspaper report of the 25/6/1915 - Pte. Oldfield - A company of H C B -  they played C company of the H.C.B. by the sea - C company won the match - he scored 0 runs and bowled by Headland. Local newspaper entries indicate that by 17th October 1914 Corporal W. Oldfield had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant at the time it was indicated that he was serving in B Company.

He served until 1-8-17 in the HCB and then in the 8th Beds 2-8-17 to 17-8-17 before transferring into the 1st London's 18-8-17 to 29-1-18 and finally served in the 4th London 30-1-18 to 21-3-18.
