John George Wills

John was born in 1899, his birth being recorded in the September quarter 1899
ref - St.Neots 3b, 306. John was wounded and after the war returned home to
Offord where at the age of 22 he married Lillian Perry [aged 20], on August 7,
1922 in Offord Darcy. At this time he is noted as being employed as Grocer in
Bedford.
His father was Thomas Wills who was employed as a local Signalman.
John joined the HCB and was posted to the 3/1st
Battalion [Reserves] - he later went overseas and served in the Kings
Royal Rifle Corps. One record source indicates that he was wounded
whilst serving in the K.R.R.C. |
